ENTRY RULES FOR THE 2008 COMPETITION
Organisers
Organisers of the competition are GLASU and the contracted Event Organisers. The competition is open to anyone except those involved in its organisation and employees of GLASU.
Exhibits Every exhibit must be the work either of the exhibitor or of a member of the exhibiting Society or Institution. If an exhibit is the work of more than one person, the entry must be made in joint names.
Format/Materials
Entries must be made of 75% wool from a sheep living in and made within the 12 months immediately prior to the closing date. In the spinning category, entries must comprise a minimum of 20g of yarn from 75% Welsh fleece and accompanied by a 10cm square sample. Do not send in creations that contain glass or fragile materials that can break in the post.
Number of entries per person Each individual may enter a maximum of 2 creations.
Labelling
All entry’s must have the following information clearly written on it - Your name, address, telephone number and email contact (if any), and the category you are entering .
Competition Process
Applicants should ensure that application forms and entries are received by February 29th, enclosing the competition entry fee, the cost of return postage and suitable packaging material for the return of their goods. All entries will be judged by a panel of experts and put on display. We reserve the right not to display entries on the grounds of available space or the quality of the entry. Judges
These will be appointed by the organisers to choose the winners. The organisers' decision on all matters relating to the competition is final, and no correspondence will be entered into concerning the competition's judging and organisation. Should the quality of entries fall below the standard required, the organisers reserve the right not to award prizes.
Notification
All entries will be notified once the competition has been judged.
Copyright
You must be the sole author and owner of the copyright in all creations entered (unless you have entered jointly with others, when you will be the joint authors and owners of the copyright)
Reproduction of Photos Taken of Creations
The organisers and any sponsors of prizes reserve the right to free reproduction and exhibition in all media (now known or hereafter created) of prize-winning and commended entries, but only in connection with the promotion of and publicity for this competition and Wonderwool Wales.
Liability
All creations entered in the competition are sent at the entrants' risk, and the organisers regret they cannot accept liability for any loss of or damage to any creations entered in the competition (howsoever caused) nor for any other loss, damage or injury resulting there from. The entrants should also ensure that there are no elements of their creations that may cause injury to those handling their creations – such as broken glass or extruding sharp wires etc – and if uncertain of this should ensure they have adequate public liability insurance.
Return of entries
Creations will only be entered into the competition and returned if entrants have sent the correct postage costs for the return of their creation/s. Please send a cheque to cover the cost of the return of your item made payable to Powys County Council. Entries can only be removed from display at the end of the event on Sunday and with the knowledge and permission of the event organisers.
