NEW YARN, EXCELANA, & BOOK SIGNING BY SUSAN CRAWFORD ON STAND M6 JOHN ARBON TEXTILES / FIBRE HARVEST ? SATURDAY 29TH APRIL 2PM

EXCELANA is the result of an exciting collaboration between John Arbon of Fibre Harvest / John Arbon Textiles and Susan Crawford knitwear designer and author, bringing you a luxurious knitting yarn evoking vintage wools from the 'Golden Age of Knitting'.

Excelana yarn is 100% British wool, spun from the fleece of the Exmoor Blueface, which live on the moors of North Devon. A cross between the Exmoor Horn and the Bluefaced Leicester, the fleece of the Exmoor Blueface creates a lustrous yarn with a soft handle, great stretch and excellent stitch definition, affording the knitter a pleasurable knitting experience.

Excelana is processed and spun in Devon by John Arbon of Fibre Harvest / John Arbon Textiles , at Coldharbour Mill in Devon , one of only a handful of worsted fibre processing and spinning plants still operating in the UK.

Excelana is available firstly in 4ply in 50g balls. This will be followed in the Spring of 2012 by a Double Knit and, as the project progresses, a unique 3 Ply and also an Aran.

The wool comes in Susan's own carefully chosen colour palette in a range of eight, complementary, vintage inspired shades.

A collection of exclusive patterns using Excelana designed by Susan is available as support in her new book 'A Stitch In Time Volume 2' (Arbour House Publishing) published in October 2011.
