WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS LOOM - KNITTERS' LOOM, WARPING UP

DESCRIPTION

Do you have a rigid heddle loom under the bed or hidden in the cupboard? Dust it off and learn how to warp-up the easy way, pick up some ideas for fancy warps and learn how to use a warping board.

During this Woolschool you will warp a loom, with a warp of 6 inches wide, 5 feet long with an even number of threads, perfect for the 'What Do I do with this Loom' afternoon workshop.

NOTE - This Workshop is a natural companion to the 2 hour Workshop 'What Do I Do With This Loom?', also with Neil Paice, running each afternoon from 2.00pm to 4.00pm

REQUIREMENTS

Students to bring a Rigid Heddle / Knitter's Loom, clamps, warping post, threading hooks, darning needle, scissors and at least 50gm (approx. 100 yards) of aran weight yarn, nice non-grabby yarn for the warp.

NOTE - Warp kits can be supplied at £5.00 each, but this requirement must be noted on your application form, the kit will then be made up for you and brought along to the Workshop.

TUTOR'S BACKGROUND

Neil lives in Herefordshire in a small village in a loop of the River Wye.  During a period of being housebound, due to illness, he picked up his wife's Ashford Knitter's Loom and taught himself to weave.  Now the house is full of looms of all sizes and he is not only weaving but building and repairing looms.
