FREEFORM KNITTING AND CROCHET
An introduction to getting started on Freeform Knitting, showing how easy it is to produce fun, colourful hats, bags, scarves or even complete garments. Give a tired old hat or bag a bright, exciting new life.
Students may bring any yarn leftovers of various thicknesses, especially bright colours and sparkly yarn. They are welcome to use their own knitting needles and crochet hooks if they have them.
The tutor will provide basic knitting needles, crochet hooks, and some yarn and a worksheet to take away as a resource. There will also be packets of assorted yarn for purchase on the day.
Lisette is a freelance knitwear designer and maker, having been knitting since she was about four. She gave up teaching and now design garments on her knitting machine, though knitting and crocheting by hand are still her favourites. Lisette took a course on Freeform knitting (then called Scumbling) with the wonderful Prudence Mapstone right back at the start of Wonderwool and has been hooked ever since. When she ran out of friends to convert she turned to giving workshops in the Bristol area to spread the love of this simple and satisfying craft.
