Weaving with Willow Bark

DESCRIPTION

Make a beautiful willow bark bird on this fun and creative workshop. Learn how to harvest willow bark fresh from a willow tree and how to make use of the beautiful textures and interesting natural features for weaving or making simple containers.

REQUIREMENTS

Students do not need to bring anything to this workshop. The Tutor will supply one roll of willow bark at an additional cost of £2.00 per person to be paid at the workshop.

TUTOR'S BACKGROUND

Mel has been a willow weaver and professional basket maker for the last 11 years and is a partner in the business Out to Learn Willow. She provides fun and creative willow weaving workshops; basket making, garden structures, willow sculpture, living willow and much more. She specialises in large scale willow sculpture and has recently completed commissions for the RHS and the BBC.
