SPINNING WITH A SPINDLE
We will look at different types of spindle, how to get going with one, how to develop your skills, and where to follow-up for more information. I’d like to show you that using a spindle is not a poor substitute for a wheel, but another way of producing good quantities of beautiful yarn, anywhere you want.
Bring a spindle if you have one (or more). Don’t buy one specially as you will be able to borrow one for the class and then buy your own afterwards. The Tutor will provide fibre free of charge.
Freyalyn has been teaching spinning, plus dyeing and knitting, since 2003, and has been doing it for a while longer. She teaches guilds and groups and also one-to-one, and sells her own hand-dyed fibres and yarns, as well as (somehow) fitting in a fulltime job. She particularly enjoys getting new spinners going, and teaching those who can already spin ways of producing different types of yarn.
